Need a Good Night’s Sleep?

Monday, June 14th, 2010

Did you know that any disruption in your normal sleeping patterns is considered a sleep disorder? Sadly, many sleep disorders go undiagnosed for long periods of time simply because patients think these disruptions are either small and unimportant or may resolve on their own. Both thoughts are wrong and pose potential risks to your overall health.

This month we’re working to help spread the word that you deserve a good night’s sleep and we’d like to make sure you get one. Whether we need to see you, or your partner, we encourage you to speak with your doctor about what’s keeping you up at night.

Different Strokes for Women – May 20, Norfolk

Monday, May 3rd, 2010

Different Strokes for Women is designed as a forum for women to interact with health care providers to discover the breaking news on how to screen for, prevent and treat stroke and other related diseases.  It continues in the tradition of Spirit of Women programming developed for the past six years, aimed at empowering women to take charge of their health and act!  Different Strokes for Women is focused on the latest advances in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of stroke, and especially how the disease may manifest itself differently in women and how there may be disparities in the treatment and outcome of the disease in women.

Different Strokes for Women will also include important free health screenings for women, as well as complementary lectures, activities and/or exhibits that entertain, inspire and foster friendship and communication among women.
